The For Kids Co Happiness Project
The unprecedented effect and impact that the Coronavirus pandemic and associated lockdown has had on some children’s mental well being, adjustment to routine and related social development has been well documented of late. As mindful practitioners, For Kids Co. team has seen many changes – most prevalent in our younger children – and have decided to support them by launching our Happiness Project. By doing so we hope to provide them with the skills to manage everyday challenges through fun and engaging activities
Aims
To provide fun and engaging group activities with children, regardless of age or developmental stage, that support strategies for emotion regulation and ultimately – happiness!
• Stress management
• Regulating emotions
• Improving focus and concentration
• Understanding the joy of giving without deficit
• Developing a positive outlook on life
• Social interaction
Activities

Games: Wiggle & Freeze,
Five Sense Scavenger Hunt, Monkey See, Monkey Do!, Dragon Breathing, Bubble Blowing (all intended to improve self awareness) -
Exercise: Simple childhood yoga, meditation, dancing

Creative: Self portraiture, landscape painting, calm down glitter globes, painting pebbles, knitting and more

Reading: cultural storytelling, poetry

Listening: sounds of nature, world music, playing percussion instruments

Giving: Random acts of kindness – such as baking to give to charities, growing seedlings for the community, recycling.

Every Monday during term time.

For Kids Co. Out of School Club,
Kingswood Halls, Kingswood Place,
Blackheath, SE13 5BU.
Cost
£20.00 with school collection from Brindishe Green, Brindishe Lee, Wingfield, St.Margaret’s, St. Matthew’s Academy or John Ball Primary Schools.
£15.00 parent/guardian drop off at 4.30pm.
(Existing contracted parents can opt children in at the usual rate by request)
